Why Are You Called Bur Bur?
The flower of the burdock plant is called a bur. When they dry out, they become prickly and hook onto almost everything. We grew up playing with these burs and, since burdock oil is one of our star ingredients, we chose BUR BUR as a playful homage to this plant.
Why Did You Create Bur Bur?
It all started with a family recipe from Ksenia’s grandmother, Ludmila. She made it by hand and lovingly applied it to our hair, brushing it and finishing with careful braids. We continued using this recipe as we grew up, and it wasn’t long until friends started asking for the recipe.
We decided to share this recipe with the world, so we spent 16 months evolving and perfecting the formula. What began in my grandmother’s kitchen is now available for everyone to experience.
Does Your Product Work For All Hair Types?
Yes! Our product was designed to work on every hair type from 1a to 4c.
Can I Use It With Protective Hair Style?
Yes. If you’re looking for a smoothing and nourishing oil with botanical ingredients to incorporate into your protective styles, you’ll love ours.
Can I Use It On My Beard?
100%. We formulate our hair oil with ingredients (like vitamin C, bukuchiol, and olive squalene) that your skin will drink up and love.
Will This Oil Leave My Hair Oily And Hard To Wash Off?
Using this oil can actually help reduce sebum production by your scalp, making hair less oily over time. That said, those with fine and virgin hair can always shampoo twice after using our oil as a treatment.
Can I Leave The Oil Overnight?
Yes, it’s a great way to get a dose of extra hydration. Anytime you leave a product on for an extended time, we recommend a patch test. Learn more here.
