How to use

  • Soak your hair and scalp with warm water to open the cuticle and help the shampoo lather.
  • Dispense a quarter-size amount (adjust for hair length) into your palm and emulsify slightly between your hands.
  • Work into the scalp using your fingertips for 1–2 minutes to cleanse and boost circulation. Let the lather travel through the lengths; no need to rub the ends.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water until hair feels clean.
  • For extra buildup or after styling products, we recommend a second wash.

I was in the market for a new, quat-free, color safe wash with unlikely irritants and appreciated the formulation here. This nourishing shampoo is extremely thick and creamy, the most stable I’ve seen, without budging an inch in my hand. It has a scent similar to their oil but with a slightly more sour bamboo aroma. My hair is just passed shoulder length, thick but fine and 2a/b, so I used three pumps of product during my first and second cleanse. It didn’t spread well or lather on my first wash after an overnight oil treatment, but the second wash bubbled gently with a very low poo suds and distributed evenly. I massaged it into my scalp and appreciated a few minutes of nourishment before rinsing. My hair felt very clean without being dry or coated. It felt soft and silky after rinsing with my usual deep conditioner and I look forward to seeing if it makes a difference in my growth. The bottle is simple and sophisticated, neutral in color and just over 10 oz. I hope it lasts long enough to give me an idea of its potential. After blow drying on cool, my hair is frizz free, shining for days and voluminous. It feels lightweight and my new hair color didn’t fade at all.
